Learn sooner whether you are wrong: aging is just good for your wine, not for your work

Biography

I help organizations to embrace the (systemic) complexity and then simplify their ways to deliver (knowledge) work, so to achieve better outcomes. I have been doing it (so far) one company at a time, primarily focusing on leading product development, both with an end-to-end accountability (product, design, engineering) as well as leading product managers.

Description

Because we may be wrong about both the value of something we plan to deliver and how much time it will takes to deliver, the best shot we got to increase our chances to deliver value is to learn faster whether we are wrong. That practically means that obsessing about value is really obsessing about flow, and aging acts a leading signal to improve related decision-making. This isn't just a theoretical claim, but also a story about just doing it.

Benefits for the attendees

- Why agility is about optimizing for value, and why to obsess about it (value) practically means to obsess about (fast) flow. - Understand aging as an overarching concept that acts as a control to improve decision-making in broader sense. - Gather insight on the impact of the practice in a multi-billion dollar context across doens of teams.
